Day 20 - July 20, 2011. Whoa! It’s the 20th post from this series already. It makes me happy that this activity gave me more than enough reason to give attention to my manga/komiks blog.

Today, I’ll be talking about the logic behind Luzviminda logo. I’ll try to make this as compact as I can. In my last post, I told you that I think of my title logos as a mirrored representation of the main character. I did the same thing in Luzviminda logo (Actually I did it to most of my logos.).

20日目 - 2011年7月20日。おっと！それは既にこのシリーズから20日後です。それは、この活動は私に私の漫画/ komiksのブログに注意を与えるのに十分な理由よりも多くを与えたことを私を幸せにする。

1. The photo above is actually the old titular text logo. An effortless attempt to create a logo since I just took a random font and added random effects in photoshop. I’m telling this because this mistake must not be passed to our new generation of indie komik creators.

2. This is my favorite part! Sketching! I love it as ugly as it is. This phase makes my mind go wild. My main concept was, I want the logo to look like Luzviminda’s costume. So I used three major colors such as blue, red and yellow. On the letter “L”, I want it to resemble a flying dove. Dove represents freedom and flight. Though, I don’t want to have that overly patriotic feel and making it look forced.

3. Final logo. This part, I added the wave and removed the stars. So again, if Luzviminda would become a logo, she would look like this.

Day 4- July 4, 2011. Luzviminda debuted in the cover and page of the Super Hero themed komiks, Bayan Knights, in September of 2008. However, she officially debuted in convention in June 26, 2005 as my entry for Toycon’s Pinoy Original Super Hero Contest. It won the second prize and this is how she first looked like then:

4日目 - 2011年7月4日。Luzvimindaは2008年9月に、スーパーヒーローをテーマにした漫画、バヤン騎士の表紙やページにデビューした。しかし、彼女は正式にToyconのフィリピンオリジナルのスーパーヒーローコンテストのための私のエントリとして2005年6月26日の大会にデビュー。それは、二等賞を受賞し、これは彼女が最初にように見えた方法です。

When Sir Gilbert Monsanto agreed to let the character participate in Bayan Knights, I did minor changes to her costume design. As you can see on the image above, there were intricate designs that aren’t good for the speed of production of comics. So yes, I chopped some details but kept faithful to the basic of the original design. Click this flash file to see my new costume design presentation.

However, I thought that I have to tone down the costume design suitable for younger readers. (OC much? LOL. ) Again, I did teeny bit of change on her undergarment to shorts. Rest assured, this is the final design.

So far, I’m pretty much satisfied!

She is currently breathing in Bayan Knights issues but I will soon give life to her in my own independent one shot!
