RAYKOSEN'S DAVENPORT
★This account serves as my personal online desk about my manga projects and anything related to it.

Raykosen
★It is a joint name of my real name (Ray) and my Japanese name in Kanji (Kosen - 光線 means Ray). It doesn't make sense if you translate it. レイ光線 - RayRay. LOL!

Davenport
★is a small desk with an inclined lifting desktop attached with hinges to the back of the body. The desk shape is distinctive; its top part resembles an antique school desk while the bottom is like one half of the supports of a pedestal desk turned sideways. The addition of the two legs in front completes the odd effect.

Good news! Today is 9:45 am of August 23, 2011.  Just got this awesome news couple of minutes ago.
After several months, Project Dojin Circle in Japan finally allowed me to release D.Ice outside Japan. Though, I’m still thinking if I’ll use Tagalog or English. I want it to debut in Philippines as an indie komik! The thing is, I’m only allowed to release it next year. But still, it’s totally awesome.

Tagalog version. Pinoy readers.

English version. Global readers.

D.Ice [Detective Ice] Official Dojin Debut. 2010 年10月10日.
Aside for my mom’s great b-day, my D.Ice (Detective Ice) dojin manga Japanese version was sold out in Tokyo and even the SEKAIDO staff and some editors are pre-ordering for my next works. I got the news from my mentor via email after the first day of debut selling (October 10, 2010) because I can’t be there. I never anticipated this since I’m very busy arranging stuffs for my mom’s birthday. Σ( ̄□ ̄;)This is such a GREAT DAY! (;_;) Kami-sama, arigato gozaimasu!
Cheers! ( ^_^)/▼☆▼ヽ(^_^ )♪

A study illustration that I did on how will Detective Ice point the criminal. It’s common thing in Detective stories to make a very memorable scene in pointing who the real criminal is. The concept is basically pointing with all fingers as assurance that D.Ice is not doubting once he already solved the case and pointed his five fingers to the criminal. Five fingers has a strong impact than one.

 D.ICE
This is a teaser layout designed by a Japanese co-artist and a friend, Nakahara Toshiyuki [中原 智之], for a manga circle and school publication. I did the illustration and the Detective Ice logo. Luckily, this will be available in Comiket as a 10 page preview along with my 10 page one shot project commission, Flying Fishes.  The general translation of the texts here are basically telling the readers that there will be a new detective and crime manga starring a stylish blue haired detective and that he will solve cases in a kakkoi/suave way. (LOLWHUT?! Honestly, that line was not my idea! LOL!) Then, there’s an “EH?” text at the center. Also the diagonal text says that the mangaka, yours truly, interview will be on page 12. :XD: A CLEAN VERSION OF THIS ARTWORK HERE!

I did this last October of last year but I kept this a secret from everyone because the project was in its pre-production stage. Used Copic Markers, blenders, watercolors and acrylics to execute this artwork. Since the paper where I executed this artwork was a 90 gsm, I tried to be pretty careful about abusing watercolors on the background. Pretty much satisfied with it, so far. The concept of the artwork is about pointing or accusing a detective. Well, USUALLY, detectives aren’t suspected because they are doing the “investigation”. So I tried bending the traditional scenario and this artwork’s executed right after the conceptualization process. Photo taken last Toycon 2010. Photo by Maku.
